Comments on Nader from Frank YoungApril 29, 2004John Kerry may have personal integrity and intellectual credibility. But some of us are seeing him as political dud for 2004. His is not only not gaining traction as a presidential candidate- recent polls show him actually loosing ground to George W. Bush, compared to similar polls only a few months ago. I think that's because, as Howard Dean said, Kerry is becoming more and more a "Bush lite" candidate. The reason Kerry is not gaining political traction is because he is not honing his message toward progressivism, and has stopped differentiating himself from his one remaining challenger- Bush. That's because Bush presents no challenge. So, in the absence of challenge, Kerry is sounding more and more like Bush every day. Without a real challenger to prod Kerry away from "Bush liteism" I believe that Kerry will continue to ignore progressive campaign pursuits. And if Kerry continues to remain progressively passive and impotent, I believe that he will loose the election to George W, Bush in November. At this point it appears that only a Ralph Nader challenge can provide Kerry the political incentive to again differentiate himself from George W. Bush. This is the main reason I support the nomination of Ralph Nader for President by the Mountain Party. Frank Young | |
