The Mountain Party—Coming to a Campus Near You

The Mountain Party of WV is launching a  “Campus Mountain Party” crusade across the state. “Mountain Party Campus chapters are designed to raise the awareness young voters have today in our ever changing political climate,” explained Jesse Johnson the party’s US Senate candidate and Vice Chair will be working with Eric McLaughlin as state wide coordinators, “Faculty advisors and student organizers are being identified in nearly every college and university in the state.”

Campus organizations can be an effective tool not only to spread awareness and membership, but also to create social networks and sponsor activities that have a positive effect on the community and the Party. 

Student organizations have shown the ability to have tremendous impact in past elections—the efforts of the College Democrats, for example, are partially credited with bringing John Kerry an impressive 54% of the youth vote in 2004.

Students and community members involved in Campus Mountain Party organizations will have the opportunity attend discussions for raising issue awareness, voter registration social outings, fundraising activities & more.
